About Me

I am originally from a teeny town in Georgia, USA where everyone knew my name. As soon as I graduated university, I hopped on a plane to settle in Europe where absolutely no one knew my name. By day I am a middle school English and Music teacher. The rest of the time, I'm getting lost in stories.

The hardest part about being a writer is convincing yourself the world will even care about the things that make it from your head to the paper. I am always reaching for knowledge and practice (no small thanks to the Stockholm Writers Network), while consuming as many books as humanly possible.

For Isla, success means saving enough to afford a place of her own with a view. That may sound easy from the bow of her ship, but she’s only a cook, and the only people who know her true identity are trapped in Lett, the theocratic homeland she fled. When Isla sneaks ashore to exchange currency with one of her trusted dealers, she meets Nikolina the soul-siphoning Siren instead. Nikolina transforms Isla with ancient Siren magic the scriptures claimed to be extinct. While Isla recovers from Nikolina’s assault, her ship leaves her behind.

Isla must blend in with the locals or risk being recognized and sent back to Lett, an impossible task when Siren magic makes her a danger to every person she passes. After a futile attempt to deny the strange new instincts plaguing her body, Isla sets out to find Nikolina and demand answers. Her lack of knowledge and careless mistakes draw the attention of a Druid named Piper. Isla learns that Siren siphon souls to maintain the balance of magical energy in the world. Furthermore, Piper offers a warning. If the nefarious Siren Court learns about Isla, she will lose her autonomy forever. But Isla was raised to believe she would never have power, and after just a taste, she might not be able to resist taking a full bite.

Avery has been with Parker for ten years. Their two children are perfect, and it almost feels too easy. Avery rarely thinks about her marriage, which is exactly what Parker sites as the problem when he asks for a divorce. They agree to a mature and responsible parting like mature and responsible adults. That is, until Avery assumes guardianship of her teen brother after her problematic parents strike again.

Ten years earlier, Parker has blown up his life by abandoning his family and the religious cult that raised him. He spends a summer backpacking around Europe, picking up the pieces and sorting out which ones were chosen for him and which ones he can claim as his own. He thinks he’s answered all his questions when he meets Avery in Stockholm. Parker is drawn to her confidence and intoxicating knack for telling him what to do, but he tries to keep his distance. Avery could easily become a quick fix to all the holes he’s created.

In present day, Avery and Parker keep their impending divorce a secret, but working together to run a household that expanded overnight is causing old feelings to stir. Avery is falling back in love with Parker, and time is the only thing that will bring him around. But the more they kick the divorce rock down the road, the more Avery starts to question his motivations for ending it. It’s been a decade since Stockholm, and Parker is still fighting the demons that brought him to her in the first place.

Ian Harper became a lawyer to make the world a better place but is stuck in the churn of the Big Law wheel. Fighting for billionaires instead of the little guy has taken its toll, and Ian can’t find the push he needs to break away…from corporate law and the ghost of his ex that still haunts his empty condo.

Kol Sundby wants to be famous, at least, he thinks. Gigging with a band in Nashville is hard for any genre that doesn’t come with cowboy boots and fringe. As a young single father, Kol doesn’t have the time to crawl out of the honky tonk trenches.

When Ian gets distracted by the high-heeled punk rocker Kol, he thinks this might be his chance to heal his broken heart. Kol is open to Ian as a possibility, but is more focused on making a safe and happy home for his daughter despite a massive corporation offering life-changing money to take his land. Except, Kol doesn’t know that Ian’s firm is behind the scenes, championing the company’s goals—and if Ian has anything to do with it, Kol will never find out.
